Why I run Ultras

 I thought about this for a long time.  I was going to make a huge long post.  Decided it was not necessary.

Short and sweet.

1)  I really like being outside

2)  I am not very fast, but have good endurance

3)  They are super fun

Feb 2012 miles

February was a solid month of running.  Ended up taking only 2 days off which were both before the LLTH 50k.  Usually I am not big on streak running and enjoy my rest days, but Feb was very consistent.  For some reason a 6 mile day feels pretty much like a rest day.  Managed some long runs which were definitely lacking since Oil Creek.  Getting anxious to race soon, which I think means I am building on the momentum from Jan.  I have realized that I've built a challenging 20+ mile trail loop throughout the city of Ann Arbor with a few nasty hills and very little roads.  Yet I dont know anyone to share this gem with, so I guess I will have to keep it to myself for a while longer.

Recovery from LLTH went pretty well, but felt like I had raced a hilly 33 mile trail race for 2-4 days after the race.

Total miles: 437 up from 322 last year.
