Love the low drop. I love the colour - mine are the green ones with the orange Swoosh. But I do find the lower to be a little soft and squishy for my taste, even with the insole removed. Everyone's different and everyone's got an opinion - mine is that these shoes are suited to double track / fireroad running where you're don't need to change direction too quickly and when the feel of the ground may not not be as important.Tommohttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12573527472201806326noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1137426372151737908.post-76536874341011274922013-10-18T06:56:00.681-07:002013-10-18T06:56:00.681-07:00Is it correct that unlike the MT110 you compare it...Is it correct that unlike the MT110 you compare it to, the Nike has arch support?ATLRBhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17942244281921263533noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1137426372151737908.post-20065209777253156442013-09-15T00:39:54.871-07:002013-09-15T00:39:54.871-07:00Nice review, I will buy this shoes for sure, I jus...Nice review, I will buy this shoes for sure, I just want to ask about the size, normally with the Asics (trabuco and nimbus) my size was UK 9.0 and with Nike free 5.0 size 9.0 I feel it a bit small, for the kiger do you think it is better to buy size 9.5?? He stated, "I want to soak up the million small bumps, and deal with the big hit when it comes."

On the topic of ground feel and proprioception, the Kigers decrease the amount of small bumps you feel while staying responsive and maintaining a good amount of energy return. I enjoy a shoe without a rock plate for this reason. You can still feel what's underfoot, but you aren't running overly cautious either. On the lower stack-heighted shoes that I run in (evo barefoot aqua lites, Vibrams, and Merrell Trail Gloves), I tend to run overly cautious. This was most prevalent when wearing the XC3s at the Voyaguer 50. Although I knew exactly what was under foot, I couldn't press as hard as I would have liked because of all the small hits.

The Kiger represents where the industry is and will be heading as far as ground feel, heel/toe drop, and proprioception. We've all tried the very low stuff and many a trail runner has had their bout with Hokas. But, looking for a good, fast running shoe, is where many of my fellow runners are. Thought we had it with the NB101 and 110, but not enough cushion and some problems with the uppers. Salomon Sense line is good, but pricey and seems like they aren't the best wearing shoe out there. That is why I'm so stoked on the Kiger: relatively light-weight; good, but not overly-so cushioning (allowing for a soft or slightly muffled feel of the ground).

So, in saying all this, if you're a hardcore Luna fan and need to feel all the trail, the Kiger is probably not your shoe.

I'd also like to point out that we all have a different amount of proprioception that we enjoy and that suits us best. I'd think this is also related to how fast you run on a various terrain.Everyone calls me Toehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10769317308401701408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1137426372151737908.post-41496479544677829272013-08-06T08:28:24.900-07:002013-08-06T08:28:24.900-07:00This comment has been removed by the author.Everyone calls me Toehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10769317308401701408noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1137426372151737908.post-34091606003546756072013-08-05T13:21:44.493-07:002013-08-05T13:21:44.493-07:00Thanks for the review... i ran with a buddy at yan...Thanks for the review... i ran with a buddy at yankee this weekend and he was wearing these. they are a beautiful shoe for sure.
i'd really like to try them out... i currently run trails in inov8 trailroc 245's and love them but they are ripping through the upper after a year of use. the one thing i am hesitant about these nike's is the stack height. i am used to somewhere around 14-18mm for trail shoes and i do all my road running in Luna sandals at 6mm. I'm worried about loosing ground feel.
can you speak to ground feel and proprioception? JVKhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08346637117985706865noreply@blogger.com
